Hinkley Commons

Hinkley Commons was  a client based project done in Benton Harbor, Michigan. The client desired a residential development designed with the use of shipping containers. Due t the location of the project being near old railroad tracks, the design intent and parti concept was the old railroad and the units were developed to look like a train on a track.

The scheme was chosen to emulate the art district in the local area. Due to the climate and the limited space, the design includes a shed roof to allow for more head space and natural light. It also opens up to the outdoors to allow the large porch area to serve as extended space.

This Project was completed using only hand drafting.
